Project context
From 2022 to 2023, we provided programming support to Skinwallet’s team. The client had its own platform development team and established working practices. Our developer worked on agreed tasks in the existing application.
The challenge
Joining an active project meant learning the code, the dependencies between frontend and backend, and the team’s working practices. New features and fixes needed to fit the platform’s architecture and shared release process.
Scope of work and solution
The developer delivered React and Node.js tasks, working with Skinwallet’s team on planning, code reviews and releases. His scope included feature development, improvements to existing code and optimisation.
Changes accounted for application dependencies and features already used by the platform’s customers. Understanding of the code and day-to-day decisions developed through working directly with Skinwallet’s team.
Results for the client
Skinwallet could assign work covering both the interface and application logic to one developer. Planning, code reviews and releases took place with the client’s team as part of its established product development process.
